The RTI installation
The compressor installation is mounted on the shoulder side of the truck underneath the angle where the gearbox is mounted. The installation is made of 100% aluminum and it is provided with a synthetic hood, which can be easily opened through a quick release fastener. This makes the installation easily accessible for service/checking.More power can be transmitted through the application of a power band, which prevents V-belts from slipping when there is not enough tension. 
Through the use of an automatic chuck, which consists of a rubber element, the power band is always being kept at the right tension and vibrations in the drive mechanism are lessened.
The installation will be equipped with a compressed air cooler for temperature-sensitive materials and to prevent dust explosion. This cooler is made of 100% aluminum and cools the compressed air with approximately 100 degrees. The exit temperature of the air is around 55 degrees Celsius, depending on the suction temperature, pressure and capacity.
The dashpot, filter and wiring are also made of aluminium. Through the application of these parts and combined with a cooler, the installation meets the requirements that are set by the chemical and food industry.
The compressor installation is equipped with a raised air inlet, which has been developed by RTI. The air is sucked in above the cabin, which prevents that dust and exhaust gasses are sucked in. The advantages of a raised exhaust are:
* cleaner and cooler air for the compressor is sucked in
* the air filter’s life span is prolonged
